Keepfor.me Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using Keepfor Cloud or the Keepfor.me website ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you access or use the Service on behalf of a company, organization, or other legal entity, you represent and warrant that you possess full legal authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

Keepfor is a modern read-it-later application and personal knowledge base engineered as an AI context vault. Built upon the open-core Keepfor engine, the hosted cloud Service delivers:

• High-speed web content extraction, clutter stripping, and distraction-free reader views.
• Hybrid keyword search (SQLite FTS5) combined with semantic vector search (Cloudflare Vectorize).
• Edge AI enrichment, including automatic article summaries, suggested tags, and question answering.
• Opt-in transactional and weekly reading digest emails.
• Personal API access and Model Context Protocol (MCP) server endpoints for AI assistants, Claude Desktop, Cursor, and automated agent workflows.

3. Accounts, Security, and Access

1. Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years of age or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction to create an account and use the Service.
2. Registration Integrity: You agree to provide an accurate, functioning email address during registration and keep your account details current.
3. Account Security: You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your authentication credentials, session tokens, and Personal Access Tokens (PATs). You accept full responsibility for all activities occurring under your account or generated tokens.
4. Unauthorized Access: You agree to notify Keepfor immediately at [email protected] if you discover or suspect any unauthorized use or security breach of your account.

4. Subscriptions, Trials, and Billing

1. Plans and Limits: Keepfor Cloud provides tiered subscription plans:
   • Personal: $5 per month, or $55 per year (offering about two months free on annual billing). Includes 150 AI summaries and 50 ask-your-library queries per month.
   • Pro: $9 per month, or $90 per year (offering about two months free on annual billing). Includes 1,000 AI summaries and 500 ask-your-library queries per month.
   • Self-Host Free: 100% open source under the AGPL-3.0-only license, deployed directly to your personal Cloudflare account with no recurring fees to Keepfor.
2. Free Trial Terms: The free trial runs for 14 days, or until account usage reaches 50 AI summaries or 20 ask-your-library queries, whichever milestone occurs first. When a trial expires without an active paid subscription, the account transitions to read-only access. Saved items and tags remain preserved and exportable.
3. Payment Processing: Subscriptions are processed through Stripe, Inc. By choosing a paid plan, you authorize recurring monthly or annual charges to your designated payment method until cancelled.
4. Plan Adjustments: You can upgrade, downgrade, or switch between monthly and annual billing cycles at any time through the customer billing portal. Prorated adjustments follow standard billing rules.
5. Cancellations and Refunds: You may cancel your subscription at any time via the billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the conclusion of your current prepaid billing period. Fees paid are non-refundable except where required by mandatory consumer protection law.

5. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to use Keepfor in compliance with all applicable laws and respect other users and networks. You agree not to:

• Store, index, or transmit illegal, abusive, infringing, defamatory, or malicious content.
• Disrupt, compromise, overload, or impair the integrity, performance, or availability of the Service infrastructure.
• Attempt to circumvent multi-tenant isolation barriers, inspect or access other tenants' data shards, or reverse engineer proprietary cloud orchestration components.
• Abuse automated tools or issue high-frequency scraping requests that exceed reasonable rate limits or cause denial of service.
• Scrape or fetch third-party websites in deliberate violation of their terms of service, intellectual property rights, or robots.txt instructions.

6. User Content and Data Ownership

1. Complete User Ownership: You retain complete and unencumbered ownership of all articles, bookmarks, annotations, notes, tags, clean text, and exports stored in your Keepfor account.
2. Limited Operational License: You grant Keepfor Cloud a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license solely to host, store, cache, extract, chunk, embed, and display your saved content to the extent necessary to deliver the Service to you.

7. Privacy and Account Deletion

Our data processing practices, subprocessor relationships, and security measures are detailed in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference into these Terms.

• Export: You have the right to download a comprehensive archive of your saved library and metadata in open JSON format at any time.
• Account Deletion: Initiating account deletion permanently and irrevocably purges all personal data, saved items, extracted HTML blobs, and vector embeddings from production storage across our infrastructure.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, statutory, or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Keepfor does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, completely secure, or that web extractions will succeed on every target website.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Keepfor and its operators, contributors, and suppliers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business opportunity, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Service.

In no event shall Keepfor's aggregate liability under these Terms exceed the amount actually paid by you to Keepfor for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to liability.

10. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or related to the Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without giving effect to conflict of law principles. Any legal claim or proceeding shall be resolved in courts of competent jurisdiction.

11. Modifications to Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time to reflect operational updates, new features, or regulatory requirements. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Service following published updates constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
